Open Sky Group is always looking for great people to add to our Supply Chain Software and Consulting practices. Below are our current open positions.

Supply Chain Consultant

The Supply Chain Consultant is a key member of Open Sky Group implementation project teams and is responsible for the overall design and implementation required to meet clients’ needs. Supply Chain Consultants develop a plan to deliver a complete solution and work with client organizations to enhance supply chain and logistics performance through strategic planning, process re-engineering and/or information technology implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in solution design and analysis along with the implementation project team
  • Share best practices and be consultative to clients throughout duration of the project
  • Produce a detailed functional design document to match client requirements
  • Co-implement the configuration of the solution
  • Guide clients through system implementation of additional functionality
  • Prioritize issues and projects
  • Identify clients’ problems, opportunities and risks
  • Gather and analyze relevant data
  • Conduct client interviews and facility visits
  • Work with clients to implement solutions
  • Participate and lead project meetings with clients as needed
  • Participate in internal projects as required
  • Participate in pre-sales, industry and marketing activities as needed
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices

Preferred Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a track record in supply chain consulting and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding client base. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working as part of a team, able to design and implement a project schedule and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Additional preferred qualifications are:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people and manage client expectations
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively with executives and staff members at all levels within Open Sky Group and within our clients’ organizations
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with Blue Yonder WMS concepts and configuration
  • Experience with other WMS/Labour software (Manhattan, HighJump, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel to client locations
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and a pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
  • Maintain professional knowledge and relationships within the Open Sky Group ecosystem
  • Two+ years of relevant experience in supply chain consulting

Senior Warehouse Management Consultant

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and driven consultant to be a key member of our growing professional services practice. As a Senior Warehouse Management Consultant, you will be a key member of the implementation project team. Your responsibilities will include developing a plan to enhance supply chain and logistics performance for major Australian companies through strategic planning, process re-engineering and/or information technology implementation.

You will work with a highly-experienced team and will be exposed to exciting new solutions to help customers to transform their business. Working with us, you will never be left behind!

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in supply chain consulting and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding client base. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working as part of a team, able to design and implement a project schedule and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. You will be expected to utilise practical, hands-on experience gained in face-to-face time with supply chain practitioners.

Your background should include:

  • Five+ years of relevant experience in supply chain consulting
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Any supply chain related qualification would be a distinct advantage
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people and manage client expectations
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively with executives and staff members within our clients’ organizations
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Advanced experience with Blue Yonder WMS/LMS concepts and configuration
  • Experience with other WMS/LMS software (Manhattan, HighJump, etc.)

The focus for a Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) Developer will be on creating quality software and finding practical, common sense solutions that solve our clients’ real business problems, deliver real results and are cost-effective to implement.

You must understand that you are paid to create something of value for someone else – and that someone else is our client. We embrace refining requirements and incremental delivery of solutions and understand that software development is best done using an iterative approach. In a nutshell, we work in the real world with real people who don’t always know what they want until they get their hands on the software.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read/Write Technical Specifications
  • Read/Write Test Plans
  • Software Configuration, Development and Installation
  • Client Support

Characteristics

  • Very technical / computer savvy
